I always say that a toy does not need to be expensive to be good. Point in case is EXE’s Yotsuya Illusion #2, a realistic toy you can own for less than $30. This is a toy that came out in 2013 after the success of the Yotsuya Illusion (which I will review in the future) and it is still a favorite among Japanese sex toy users. Why is this toy a good one? Lets go to the review…
First Impression
The package of this toy is simple and without frills – a black carton box with paper stickers showing the toy and its interior texture of bumps and ridges. Because of the size of the box you expect a toy with a size similar to a meiki, but when you open the box, you realize the toy will be smaller than expected. In fact, half of the volume of the box is occupied by one of those packing air pillows – shame on you Chinese manufacturers!
After the initial surprise, you get a sample packet of lube and the masturbator inside a double bag. The toy itself is a medium sized toy, perfect to use as an insert with most Japanese dolls and love pillows. The material is very soft and fingering the toy reveals a nice array of organic textures that are slightly more intense thanks to a dual layer design. The toy promises interesting sessions going from the short and intense to longer, lazy sessions.
Review
As expected, this toy gave me really good sensations during playtime. I used it as the insert for both my “low budget doll” and my small anime pillow (Kaede) and with both dolls I had excellent sessions.
To begin, the Illusion 2 is a dual layer toy, so the tunnel feels slightly harder than the exterior making the realistic texture more intense. Once you penetrate the toy, you feel how elastic and flexible is the material when the ridges and bumps inside it accommodate to your size, hugging your penis at all times. It is one of those feelings that only good toys give – and the Illusion 2 does it.
Using this toy with different dolls gave me different sensations. With the solid doll, the masturbator felt tighter at the tunnel due to the material pressing the toy walls. With the air doll, the Illusion felt tighter at the entrance, expanding easily at the walls in every thrust. Either way, I was allowed to control myself and enjoy this toy as long as I desired.
The toy is pretty durable for a sub $30 toy, getting small tears at the entrance that are barely noticeable. Cleaning is as usual with closed ended toys.
Verdict
The Illusion 2 is one of those toys that at first glance does not inspire anything – just another Japanese rubber pussy on the market. With a simple, understated package, it does not show off on the websites… it shows off where it should – in use! If you decide to buy it, you will realize that sometimes the best toys out there are do not need fancy packages or graphics to be a really good toy for playtime.
