I think that was the reasoning behind the design of Koko’s Half Hera Hip, an ass toy from South Korea that is ultra realistic in more than one way. First Impressions
When you receive the Half Hera there are three things that come to your mind right away:
- This thing is huge,
- This thing is beautiful, and
- This thing will be a bitch to clean.
You will be right on all three things because the Half Hera is big and heavy – about 14 pounds of TPE material measuring 13 by 9 by 6 inches. The weight and size alone make the toy a bitch to clean, but then you have to add the fact that the toy has two canals – vaginal and anal – and only the anal is open ended. That means the vaginal tunnel is closed and with all that material, it takes a while to dry.
Now, you will be also right about the looks of this toy. The Half Hera is beautiful and once you put it in position for use, you will be amazed on how realistic it looks and feels to touch. This is maybe the only toy that gave me an erection just by looking at it… Slap those cheeks and you will feel you are slapping a petite woman in her ass. NICE!
The Hera Hip comes in two versions: normal and Auto. I got the Auto version which includes two vibrators that you insert in the toy. The vibrators have a single control for speed and a volume control for an annoying Asian woman screaming. Personally, I can do without the screaming lady but if you like screaming cats , then you can use headphones to avoid your roommates / neighbors calling the police.
The canals are very realistic having different textures to replicate anal or vaginal intercourse. You can switch freely between them to experience different sensations.
Review
Because the Half Hera is such a big toy, its size limits the usability. You will need a stable flat surface to place it and obviously, you should be able to reach the holes. The setup is one of the drawbacks of this toy. I am limited to my bed as a stable surface and the height is not that comfortable. I had to either put the Hera on the back of one of my new purchases (a nursing mannequin) or use my Liberator Ramp to be able to use this thing in a comfortable position. For me, that was too much preparation…
Although it was cumbersome to prepare the toy, I forgot the annoyance as soon I lubed it. The holes feel fantastic to the finger and even better when you introduce your little friend. The textures are not too intense (a plus in my book) and they are realistic enough to keep you interested. The vibrators can be a distraction sometimes, but they give a little bit of variety to the sensations. Personally, I preferred to use the Hera without the vibrators.
I found myself going hard and deep on the Hera, but remembered (just on time) that it is very big and very difficult to clean. To avoid the cleaning nightmare, I shot all over those nice ass cheeks or used a condom. I know, I know… It’s dumb to use a condom when using a sex toy, but I did not want to handle 14 pounds of wet, slippery TPE and then wait 48 hours for the tight canals to dry. Verdict:
The Half Hera Hip is an interesting toy if you are a BIG fan of doggie style sex. Personally, for a toy in the almost $300 mark, I found it a pain in the ass to use. Yes, it looks beautiful. Yes, it feels fantastic. But it requires a sometimes elaborated setup just to make it comfortable to use, it is a heavy toy to take to the bathroom to clean and to boot, it has one closed canal texture, so it takes a while to dry. It is one of those toys that I would love to give a stellar review based on sensations, but I cannot because I found it cumbersome to use. If you don’t mind the setup and cleaning hassles, then try it because it feels really, really good.
