The Doll Life #19: Dekunoboo’s Sitting Nanase

There are times when I buy toys, start using them and then forget to review them. After the events in my life since 2020, I did not remember AT ALL that I had never reviewed one of my favorite companions – the Dekunoboo Sitting Nanase doll!

I got this doll probably at the end of 2018 / beginning of 2019 together with another Dekunoboo doll (the Sleeping Yuka) that surprise, surprise, I have not reviewed either. I am ashamed about this, specially since the company apparently went down before the pandemic and their dolls were interesting to say the least…

When I received this doll, purchased “used” from a TDF member. my first reaction was “Damn, I was scammed – this one is too light!”. I knew Dekunoboos were light dolls since I already had three of their torsos, but the Sitting Nanase is a full body doll, so I was expecting more than 10 pounds of weight.

For those of you who never heard of this brand, Dekunoboo was a Japanese manufacturer of fabric and foam dolls with realistic faces and super light bodies – just under10 pounds on the full sized dolls. They were also famous because the dolls feel like no other in the market thanks to foam micro beads used by Dekunoboo as filler material. Imagine the foam balls used in beanbag chairs, but less than a millimeter in diameter – that is the filler on these dolls. Using that unique filler allowed the dolls to be not only super light, but also very huggable because the whole body accommodates to your body. Another benefit from their filler material is that it is temperature smart – it stays fresh during hot summers and stays warm during winter, making these dolls / body pillows the perfect bed companions.

You can see her humongous breasts – and all the stains…

These dolls were usually only available in the USA through a retailer from Japan (Kanojo Toys), making them more expensive when compared to other fabric dolls. The last time I saw the Nanase in their reseller’s website she had a price of $975 – way too much for a cloth doll these days. Fortunately for me, a few years ago (almost 10 years ago, but the hell is counting) a Doll Forum member wanted to “upgrade” to silicone and sold both of his Dekus for less than $700 and they ended with me…

The first thing you notice about the Nanase are her humongous breasts. They were promoted as being M-cup breasts and honestly, I believe they are. With the exception of my Valentina Girls’ Didina (another doll I need to review soon), the Nanase has the biggest pair of tits of the girls in my collection. Besides the massive jugs, the doll is fairly standard – adult sized, realistic proportions – with typical Japanese onahole pocket with a string to secure the toy in place.

Like I said before, humongous breasts!

Since I have been using this doll daily for the past seven months (my other girls are in storage since April due to my constant moving until 5 weeks ago), I will summarize my review into the Bad, the Good, and the Ugly…

  1. Low weight. Like all Dekunoboo dolls and torsos, the Nanase is ultra light – about 8 pounds (3.6 kgs). For someone with 15 injured discs and arthritis in his whole body, this is a perfect doll.
  2. You will do some customization. The Nanase came with a closed eyes face mask (more about that later), but I found it creepy. If you read my review for the My Wife Series S, you will notice I am using the same head. That is because the three “heads” available from the company were interchangeable between their models. The options were the Mirai head (open eyes) or one of the closed eyes models, the submissive Natsune and the creepier, smiling “Yuka”. The heads were made of rubber, which you can apply make-up or use acrylic paint for semi-permanent makeup.
  3. She feels great. The outer fabric and the filler beads make the doll unique since she is extremely soft and malleable. Sleeping with her is great because in many ways she feels organic, specially since the material absorbs some of your body heat.
Most of the stains are humidity stains, I swear!
  1. The hollow head. If you wanted a separate head, you had to shell out around $200 extra. For that prize, I would expect a solid head. Instead, Dekunoboo’s heads were hollow plastic / rubber masks needing to be filled to avoid cave ins. My Dekus have heads filled with polyfiber filler, but again, for that amount, I would expect better “head”.
  2. It leaks micro beads. This is something I have noted with my other Dekus. After a few years, you start seeing little white balls whenever you move the doll. The issue? The “skin” of these dolls is a very thin jersey type fabric and with time, the material thins out and small tears form. The micro beads then leak out of the doll making their way to your skin or your sheets. Again, for such an expensive cloth doll, I expected the fabric to hold off better, but eventually I will have to put polyfiber in these dolls – and that will be a shame…
That my friends, is a view I got daily for the past 9 months…

The ugly about this doll is two-fold. First, the doll appears to not be available anymore since the company either closed down in Japan or was acquired by another. I have seen very similar dolls sold now by NPG at the same ridiculous prices.

That would be the second ugly thing about this doll – it was stupidly expensive. Compared with Japanese competitors like A-One it was on the higher end of the spectrum, but compared to American products like the Meiki Plush Doll and the Meiki Plush DX from Toy Demon, it is way too expensive at almost $1,000 depending on the exchange rate. If you go further and compare it with a cuddle Valentina Girl averaging $300, just forget about it!

The dolls from the Dekunoboo brand were unique dolls with their ultra light weights and micro beads feels. Yet, they were pricey AF and although I love playing with my Nanase’s jugs, I can get four Valentina Girls with big tits for the same price.

Dear, I will be with you later tonight…

Realism: 5 / 5.  This doll has all the right proportions and she feels fantastic!

Storing: 3 / 5. She is full adult size, so storage in a closet can be tricky at times.

Maintenance: 3 / 5. Although easy to repair, expect micro beads everywhere after a while. Be careful with dark fabrics which can easily stain the body and face when in contact.

Cleaning: 4 / 5. Easy to spot clean when needed, but humidity will give the doll “freckles”

Weight: 5 / 5. Super light. Perfect for those with back / arm injuries.
